Sunday, January 15th, 2017 – West Palm Beach Waterfront
After fighting Ewing’s Sarcoma, an aggressive and rare bone cancer, for the last year, Nicholas McClary, the son of CarShowTV producer and host Andrew McClary, was recently diagnosed with leukemia which developed from the radiation and chemo used to fight the Ewing’s. Nicholas is going to need a bone marrow transplant. The family has all been tested to be a donor, but may not be a match. So CarShowTV is doing a Bone Marrow Registration Drive to look for a match for Nicholas. We have teamed up with BeTheMatch.com, which is part of the National Bone Marrow Registry and Super Car Week. The CarShowTV production truck will be on site at the final day of Super Car Week at the West Palm Beach Waterfront with BeTheMatch.com handing out information and registry kits. Its safe, quick, and easy and you could save a life. Donating bone marrow is a safe procedure that is similar to giving blood and only requires and afternoon in the hospital. You can even go back to work the next day and full recuperation of the lost marrow only takes weeks. Yet this small inconvenience can save the life of someone who is dying.
Ted Vernon, the host of South Beach Classics, will be on hand from 2-3pm as will members of the R2D2 Builders Group, Storm Trooper fan group, the 501st, in full costume helping out.
So come on out for a really fun day of cars and take a moment to stop by and register to save a life.
